Since inception in 2000, Opera raised funds in excess of € 300m managed through two companies Opera 1 (fully invested) and Opera 2 (since 2004). Since January 2008, Opera 2 invests through Opera Italia, closed-end fund approved by Bank of Italy.

Investors include leading Italian firms (including Bulgari , industrial founding partner of Opera), US pension funds, international corporate and private parties.

The capital structure of Opera 2 is characterized by the substantial amount committed by new management.
